We met in court today to hear from Dr. Shelley Breadner, the veterinary behaviouralist who assessed Trevor. The outcome of todayʼs court hearing was very positive. Trevor will be given the opportunity to be rehabilitated. We will be working with Dr. Breadner over the coming weeks to establish a rehabilitation plan for Trevor.
We are now actively looking for a suitable adoptive home with someone in the Whitehorse area who is able and willing to commit to Trevorʼs rehabilitation and management plan. If you are interested in knowing more about this, or you would like to take a role in shaping Trevorʼs future, please contact Humane Society Yukonʼs Board of Directors at humanesocietyyukon@gmail.com.
The Board of Directors and staff of Humane Society Yukon would like to extend our immense gratitude in welcoming Carrie Burbidge, Barrister & Solicitor, onto our ʽTrevor team.ʼ Carrie has supported and advised us in recent weeks, without charge, and her expert advice has truly been invaluable. She will be acting as our solicitor as the rehabilitation process makes its way through the court. Thank you, Carrie!
We also wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers, donors, and supporters who have helped us in our efforts to save Trevor. We could never have done it without you!

That is awesome news! I am so happy for Trevor, hopfully this time he will get the perfect home that he deserves! And i am hoping that in making people aware of what happened to Trevor, many more dogs can be saved!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good dog who deserves a chance to experience a good home with an experienced owner who will show him kindness, consistency, training and, above all, love.
ReplyDeleteGreat job. One for the good guys and dogs! Laws and By-laws are there to help protect us and run a civilized society but they should be applied with equality to all. It was clearly proven that other dogs were given a second chance by By-law. Without all this "fuss" and support for Trevor he would have just disappeared so thank you for standing up for him and other abused dogs. With the proper training and the proper owner I know that he will live a happy dog's life.

I am glad to hear this as well. I hope that Brindi in Halifax is allowed to go home to her owner soon, because she deserves that happy home and her owner is more than prepared to take the necessary steps to keep her safe.
